Test of Time

Old Timers say it was a handsome building in its day. But then, there's been a lot of winters pass with their snow and ice and howling wind. The summer sun's beat down on that old barn till all the paint's gone, and the wood has turned silver gray. Now the old building leans a good deal, looking kind of tired.

We're a lot like that, you and I. We lean a bit more than we did when we were young. Our main frame is shaky and a few boards need to be replaced.

They say that years of standing in the weather bearing the storms and scorching sun, only that can produce beautiful barn wood. The dry spells and the stormy seasons to do a job of aging and beautifying.

We’ve stood through many storms together and withstood the dry spells. I’ve watched as you have changed, as you have watched me. The seasons of life have weathered us, too.

Time wears well on you, my old friend.  Underneath all of the snow, I'll stand beside you until all the paint is gone and we are silver gray.

Just like these old barns.
