I have never heard Ravel’s Kaddish before. It’s quite beautiful. I grew up in an atheist Jewish household. We knew of the kaddish tradition, and my father probably recited it for his much beloved mother. But the only kaddish I knew was Allen Ginsberg’s long poem. The long arc of history is full of words and music to help quell the anguish of grief. This we share as humans.

so much longing and sadness in this. Robin’s last two sentences really get me. I hope you are taking it slow and easy, dear Michael.
