The Visitors
A slight breeze teased the sky,
Wedgwood blue
Free of clouds
And
Mechanical passages,
Made perfect
Our visitor’s
Messages of spring in full glory.
Among the Jasmine and Honeysuckle bowers
Showers of soul
Enraptured the whole of us
Remembering and telling stories of the past
Both distant and near
With heart and ear,
We heard the poetry of life,
Work in progress,
Tales of endeavor and love.
While above
Bees, hummingbirds and butterflies
Were our Greek chorus of recitative,
Bringing relief of the spirit wound,
Giving leave of our richest soul
And
Wound up our artful toil
In blessing the day,
As he knelt
At the burial place
His head bowed,
His face,
A beauty of thought
And
Prayed
For the spirit of a loved one
Long gone
And
Now sought with joy
On this beautiful, magical day
No longer
So very far away,
So very far away.
Thinking of you and Trace today – hope you are well Sweetheart … miss you. XoXo Emmers ❤️☘️
